Why do I need a NHS examination?
An NHS examination will allow your dentist to see if you have any dental problems, ultimately allowing you to keep your mouth healthy. Leaving dental problems untreated could make them more difficult to treat in the future which is why it is best for you to deal with these problems early or prevent problems occurring altogether.
What we can offer
Here at our practice in Glasgow we specialise in NHS examinations and have a team of skilled dentists available who provide these examinations to NHS patients. When carrying out an examination each of our dentists pay close attention to detail, this ensures that we don’t miss anything out.
During an NHS examination
During your examination you can expect one of our dentists to:
- Examine your teeth, gums and mouth
- Ask about your general health and any problems that you’ve had with your teeth, mouth or gums since you last visited
- Ask about and give you advice on your diet, smoking and alcohol use and teeth-cleaning habits
NHS examinations are free on the NHS and you are entitled to two examinations per year.
